Mount Kinabalu
We started off the trip being lost in the middle of Bugis trying to find the bus interchange to take a cab down to Senai Airport in Johor. But anyway, we did found it and so there we began our journey to climb Mt Kinabalu.
At Senai Airport

Our lunch before the flight

Air Asia... truly Asia

Leaving Senai

Caught in the act!

Sleeping Beauties

The most sane of all =)

We touched down and was fetched to our hotel. It was freezing cold up there.

Seems like the hotel owner is an antique car collector

Rose Cabin... our lodge for the night

Although the colour of the beds were pretty orh biang to begin with. It was a nice little cosy room nevertheless.

That's me sitting at the balcony.

A Group Shot during breakfast

After breakfast, we began our trek up to Mt Kinabalu with our guide Milo or something. Sorry... suffering from guoyuanesque dementia.

Oh my goodness... up and down in 3 hours.... are these people human?
A waterfall along the way. Can you spot the rainbow?

Halfway up the trek

A pleasant surprise along the way. Pitcher plant.

Nearing the summit, in the fog.

An artistic shot by aik keong. I think the person climbing was more beautiful than the flowers.

Spectacular feats of the locals. I mean won't the wind blow him away?

I love the forest at the upper portion of Mt Kinabalu.

And that's where we will stay for the night

a suave shot of me

Entrance to the lodge

Our room

A beautiful sunset above the clouds

Emo shot of me and jiahui

Another emo shot

The attempt up the summit in the middle of the night

Sunrise...woah....

A cool shot of our guide

Many people scrambling up

At the summit of Mt Kinabalu! Yeah

Struggle with Exams
Finally, the exams are coming. Pretty glad that my exam schedule is pretty friendly in that it starts on 26 Nov and ends on 3rd Dec. 1 paper for each day... that's pretty nice. i think the challenge for me lies not in finishing studying for the exams (which will never ever happen) but that of stepping up on my trekking training regime from next week onwards. I mean, i really do feel like dedicating more time to study (obviously grades are important), but certainly i do not want to die up there on the mountain (my life is more important). Thus, after performing a cost-benefit analysis assuming that i'm a rational creature with the pure intent of self-maximisation, i figured that i need to balance the two things well. [OH DUH!! WHAT A STUPID CONCLUSION!] Seriously... i have no idea why i'm typing this blog entry at 11:34pm when i have an exam the next day at 1300 and i haven't study 2 big topics yet.
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH..
hahaha...
=P
Taste of my own Medicine (Vaccination)
AFter a pretty productive mugging in central library this morning, i went off to TTSH for my vaccinations. In the end have to take 4 jabs.
1)Typhoid
2)Hepatitis A
3)Influenza
4)Yellow fever
Ok... 2 on each side. But i have to commend the nurse for being really professional in her skills and service. 2 thumbs up for TTSH!
However... my arms are now in a pretty 'sorey' state (pun intended)
Dormancy
So many things that have happened.
So many thoughts in my mind.
So many things to do {preparation for exams plus all administration stuff for SEP plus physical training for upcoming climbing trip}
It's no big wonder why my blog has stayed pretty dormant all these while.
I think sometimes having too many BIG events to look forward to isn't a good thing afterall. One may be too overwhelmed by the preparations up to the event that one's emotion could run dry after being pummelled by excitement exceedingly. Just came back from Mt Kinabalu, then exams, then Mt Kilimanjaro and 1 week later London for 1 semester. I know i shouldn't complain but i just couldn't put myself at rest to smell the roses... things seemed to be happening a tad too fast.
Alright... one thing at a time... Exams
BUSY BUSY
This week is [so so so so so so so so so so]^n
BUSY! And as the final year exams draw nearer and nearer each day, things ain't gonna be less busier than before. ANyway, before i forget, i resolve to treat Huishi nicer from now on realising how evil i was towards her (and only her it seems). Sometimes its really not my fault cos she always started it first. *bleah* But anyway, since my heart is so
BIG, i shall be nicer to her lohz.Kind of enjoyed myself doing migration project with Huishi, Mingli (who happened to be my cultural landscape proj mate too), Yi'En and Yong Jian. There's lots of laughter and enjoyment (albeit lots of stress too) in the process of making the migration newspaper. I was exceptionally amused by Yi'en's straightforwardness towards Huishi. A normal conversation can go like this:
Yi'En: HUISHI!! How come your article is so shitty..... only 3 pathetic paragraph!
Huishi: You broke my heart...
Yi'En: [Obviously oblivious to the sad look on Huishi's face] It's so crappish, can do something about it or not?
Hahahaha.... it's like watching drama serial real-life.
Alright... and the following pictures were what we have come out with for our migration paper... obituaries... can you believe it?
