Seletar Charm
For the geography friends out there who are struggling with the topography map assignment, i've found a great site to answer the frustrations of finding out what is a 'spur'. Goodness... i almost pulled out my hair just to understand what exactly constitute to a spur on the topographic map lah... but thank God i found this website (it's military-based by the way) which teaches us how to differentiate the landforms in topographic map.
http://www.paintersflat.net/landform_interpret.htmlHope you guys continue to have fun differentiating valleys and saddles, ridges and spurs on the map.
Spent the morning exploring the rustic part of Selater Camp area for our tourism project with Jared, Khairul, Jiahao and Qianhui. The place really was a 'bird-don't-lay-eggs' ulu wasteland lah. I think one of the highlights was that we chanced upon this Oriental Resort and found a muay thai training place for the Muay Thai enthusiasts. We spent some time chatting with the 'Master' and it seemed that he has a special interest in Khairul. Hee hee hee... (cos Khairul was pretty muscular and lean...good physique to be Muay Thai boxer) Anyway, we also explored some deserted (and sealed) colonel bungalows. We managed to 'broke into' one of them and it was indeed an intriguing experience. Lunch was at Jalan Kayu eating prata, a pretty fulfilling one albeit expensive. Throughout the whole trip, we did have lots of quotable quotes like "I don't need my shades to do the electrifying, my eyes are the ones that electrify" etc... hahaha.
Alright... i shall take a break from my geog assignment and go do some other stuff. Till the next entry.

Sunny Sentosa
Had a pleasant surprise this morning. I left home at 0920, and i reached National Stadium at 0955. What i did was to take Bus 106 to Orchard and then transfer to Bus 16 to reach National Stadium. That was a speedy journey... and now i've got to know a short cut. =)
My first time gymming since ages ago. I seriously could not recall the last time i stepped into the gym. Wow...it must be months ago. Anyway, you guys wouldn't believe it if i tell u i bumped into rod monteiro (how to spell his name ah?) in the gym. He was like using this exercise machine (pull up machine) beside me. Ok ok... i wasn't star-struck cos i seriously didn't know much about him anyway except that he's a DJ? You know i don't listen to radio one mah. (oops...i better cut down on my atrocious singlish usage)
After gym, went down to Vivocity (had lunch at Seah Im)and got myself a cheapo $4 slipper. Hahaha... now no one will dare to say i only buy branded goods ok. I proudly proclaim i've picked up this cheap deal at Giant supermart. See... are you guys convinced that i'm not brand-conscious now? Anyway, both of us sua-ku sua-ku went to find the monorail that goes to sentosa. Apparently the cashier at the ticketing booth really thought we were tourists and she even asked if we'd booked a hotel room there. Gosh... i don't know whether to feel insulted or flattered. So that was our maiden ride on the new monorail to sentosa.
As to what we did in sentosa...erm... quite dumb lah... so i shall not type it out. Basically its very relaxing. hee hee.
Now back to my bah kuas and cuttlefish... tata
An Amusing Accident
Maybe i will pick out one amusing incident(or accident) which occurred today.
I was in the AS7 Cluster comp lab printing my lecture notes. As i personally think that my Singapore Studies lecturer ain't doing any justice to nature judging from how she wasted so many slides on redundant things, i've decided to edit the presentation to save some paper. So while i was cutting and pasting the lecture notes in the powerpoint slide, painstakingly reviewing the whole thing over and over again, in the corner of my eye, i spotted this guy meddling with the system unit beside me. Thinking he must be trying to slot his thumbdrive into the system unit (i know ppl often face lots of prob trying to stick the thumbdrive into the school CPU), i didn't really bother about him. So what happened was, while i was still in the arduous process of editing the presentation, a window asking me to save my work popped out. Thinking that it must be the program's auto-save function prompt, i clicked on the 'save' button. After i've clicked on the button, the whole comp suddenly came to a shut-down function, and before i knew it, the monitor dimmed to a complete darkness. At the same time when i looked to my left, this guy (yes the same guy whom i thot was trying to slot in the thumb drive) was still furiously pressing on the on/off button of the system unit while staring at his monitor. Apparently this blur sotong was pressing the button of my CPU from the start in which his rightful system unit should be the one on his left. So i kind of told him politely that his cpu unit was on his left and not right and he has just got my comp shut off. He kind of muttered a 'sorry' and sped off. Frankly speaking, i wasn't angry at all. In fact, my first reaction when i realised the situation was to laugh. It was so funny lah. I mean i don't really care about the lecture notes cos i can always edit it on another day... although i still think he ought to be more sincere in his apology instead of just speeding off after realising his error. I was thinking if i was in the midst of rushing my project which would be due in 5 minutes time and he did that kind of thing... i really wondered if i will just strangle him to death on the spot. Hmmm... something worth pondering. But anyway, God is good and the presentation slide was saved in the data so i did not lose it... no need to redo the whole thing. *phew*
Lesson learnt: Pls do check which comp ur system unit belongs to or else u could land urself in really serious trouble. =)
Spring Cleaning
As i'm typing this post right now, my room is still in an utter mess and i'm seriously thinking when i can tidy up this war-torn area. Oh how i dread Chinese New Year, the time when i had to grudgingly clear up my room. Oh C'mon, they call it Spring cleaning and since Singapore is tropical whole year round it doesnt make sense to have spring cleaning loh. No Spring so No Cleaning. Ok... i shall not clear up my room and see what will happen. =P

I dunno what title i shud put?
First, i think i had better make a clarification. My previous post was meant to be a JOKE. Please please do not see that as a male chauvinistic comment. God created both Man and Woman for different functions and ultimately it is God who created both Man and Woman in the first place. *phew*
Woke up early in the morning contemplating whether i should go to the gym to work out my lazy bones for the week. I did finally convinced myself to go. So there i took Bus 95 and alighted at SRC busstop to go to the gym. SOmething was amiss... why were there so many people heading towards SRC? This man (who obviously never step foot into NUS before) asked me the direction to MPSH1-2 and so i led him all the way to the location. WOW... so super crowded... then did i realise it was the opening for this Career fair for the graduate students. Aiyoh... felt so out of place there. haha. But the annoying thing was, the gym was closed for renovation. ARGH!
Basically nothing interesting happened during Singapore Studies lecture. I had to confess that i wasn't paying my utmost attention during the lecture. I was in fact reading my readings for GE 1101E in the lecture hall. =P
Had lunch at Biz canteen and i do have to say that the lemon chicken rice was not really that nice. The rice was ok.. the chili was ok.. the soup was ok.. the lemon chicken was just too cold and soggy. I had to say the cucumber was nice though. Was pretty curious to know how they manage to cut it so long and slender.
Bumped into Kaicher at the forum. We had a long chat in which halfway we bumped into Peihiang. Wow... how small the world can get in Arts Fac considering both of them ain't even Arts students in the first place. Hahaha.
Rushed to my lecture GE1101E which was as interesting as usual. Made a big joke on a DBS advertisement hahaha.
McDonalds for dinner...
And a run just now which almost killed me. Oh no...my IPPT is coming soon just around the corner *sniff*
And my blog entry is getting more and more mundane and boring. But oh well... you need to have boring blogs to contrast with the interesting ones mah... hahaha.
Food for Thought
Something that might be of interest. Imagine your mum or you girlfriend saying this to you...
"Where will you man be without us women?"
Our reply:
"Still in the Garden of Eden."
So females out there, please do refrain from using this to suan us man ok? =P
Tagteam Champion: D Monster n Z Monster
A WORD OF WISDOM:Do not try to tackle a back-to-back 2-hour tutorial and a 2-hour lecture after swallowing flu tablets which cause drowsiness. And that's exactly what i've done today. But thanks to my training of fighting the drowsiness in my army days (cos if you sleep durin talks or watsoever the whole company will knock it dwn), i did have some certain degree of control over my consciousness. Seriously, i could not understand why some of my friends can succumb to the Z monster even without the drowsy drug. Gosh... which got me to ponder there's something much more potent than the drug which can cause drowsiness. (Suspects include certain lecturer with a very monotonous voice or heavy lunch or clubbing till wee hours prev nite etc) It was pretty funny as how when i thought i had finally made it through the 2-hour tourism tutorial (it was interesting btw), i still have a 2-hour lecture to pull through. And worse still, it's on GEOMORPHOLOGY. So you can imagine me struggling so hard while the lecturer was happily pressing the remote showing slides after slides of different kinds of soil (which all looks the same to me) explaining them. Gosh... that's the last kind of lecture you want to reinforce the strength of the Z monster. All the Histosols and oxisols and what nots... aiyoh...
Afternoon was spent resting in bed. The drowsiness has taken a toil on me and my brain was so tired from surpressing the effects. I had a good rest and i felt much more better when i woke up. Now looking forward to Wednesday when i hope i would be well enough to get some exercise. Oh...i really missed those endorphins...
Oh ya...better prepare my stuff for tmr's tutorial...
need to go studio and learn Thai dance. =P
Ah-CHOO
As i'm typing this blog entry right now, i would've used my nth tissue paper to sneeze out the disgusting vile-looking alien-green mucus from my system. On one hand i was glad that these contagious-looking yucky slime was finally gotten rid of (in my mind thinking of the decreasing reserve of the mucus in my lungs or wherever its storage *i'm no BIO student*), on the other hand, i couldn't help but suspect if the rate of production of the mucus far exceeds the rate of me sneezing out the mucus. Oh gross... maybe i ought to seek help by first finding a doctor. However, the thought of "maybe it's getting better and it'll just go away after some rest. Why pay so much to get some medicine which most probably you have tons of them at home (from previous doctor visits) or which you only get to take 1-2 capsules before your illness goes away." I find this thought process really interesting. Since young, Sick = see doctor. But ever since age crept up on me slowly like the molten lava oozing out from a fissure, visiting the doctor became the last resort. I wonder since when did the economic side of me starts to infiltrate into this health business of curing my disease. Anyway, i'll most probably go see a doctor later on.
Last week was filled with lots of interesting events. One of which was the module of 'Arts of Southeast Asia'. I was severely reprimanded by my bro for taking the module and in fact i did feel really guilty of what i have done. I just pray that this semester will just fly pass and let it be a history once and for all. Every lecture and tutorial is a warfare to me, allowing me no room of letting down my guard for fear of being overtaken. oh well...
Really wanted to continue typing, but a sudden jolt of reminder that i still have lots of things yet unaccomplished quenched the desire for further blogging. Seems like i have to find another time then. Tata...
