Sore Back

Listening to Ken Hirai on a rainy day simply infuse a kind of melancholic mood into me. His voice is just so hypnotic and soothing to the ears, one which strikes the chords in your heart without you realising it. Haha, some people might be thinking that i'm over-exaggerating but hey, that's my personal opinion mah. =P

Last night we had a great night bouldering at Yishun SAFRA. Was glad to have my instructors Jingkuang and Melissa there to teach us some skills and techniques. Am really falling in love with climbing every second. It indeed is a sport which test one for his/her skills, technique, endurance and creativity too. Hope that i'll be able to make it part of my long-term commitment if God willing. But at the very least, it was a great workout (which i haven't had for a very long time) and sure i do look forward to the next session. =)

Making plans of going for the coming Field Studies in May. It will be 6 weeks long in Thailand doing lots of field work. That will definitely be a very enriching experience and i sure do hope i will be able to go.

Alright...gotta rush off now

Murphy's Law

My trip to Yishun SAFRA:

PLAN:
take BUS 106 to Orchard MRT Station
Take train to Yishun MRT Station
Take BUS 812 to the 3rd stop and tada destination.

Let's see how Murphy's Law can be applied to the plan

Well, i couldn't squeeze up the first 106, so i've to wait for a second one
After what seems to be like eternity, the second 106 came and just like the first time, i couldn't squeeze up the bus too.
After what seems like another eternity, the third 106 came and i managed to get onto the bus.

The train trip was smooth...

Took BUS 812 and alighted at the 3rd stop.
Asked passer-by how to get to SAFRA Yishun
He told us we took the wrong direction (HOW CAN IT BE WHEN IT IS THE 3RD BUS STOP OUT OF THE INTERCHANGE) Apparently we must take the opposite direction for the bus to enter the interchange and then out of it again...making a loop etc... Aiyoh...so complicated. What kind of bus route is that... so complex one.
So we waited for the bus
And the bus really took eternity to come.
So reached there late.

Received a phonecall...due to wet weather, cannot climb.
ARGH!!!!
Alright, so we drove down to Climb Adventure to climb.
And when we reached there.
NO HARNESS and SHOES!!!
so... we went home.

Murphy's Law... but we have a weapon against it

Romans 8:28

SO CUTE!!

I'm generally not a lover of cats, and in fact, i do not really like them. But this video which i chanced upon in Youtube...oh man...it just melts my heart. The kitten is so so so CUTE!! argh...

2nd week

2nd week of the 2nd semester is coming to an end. Next week would be the start of a busy semester ahead crammed with tons of tutorials, field trips, projects and what-nots. Oh well, i've gotten myself a superb timetable with my Odd weeks Tuesdays starting from 0800 all the way till 1700 without any breaks in between. WAH! Great planning skills guoyuan... you're just superb. I can't imagine going to Cecilia after that.... i mean i will really be like a zombie, literally.

Can't seem to stop coughing. Felt like my lungs were congested. But yet i wasn't having the sick kind of sick, it's more like a irritating kind of sick but yet it's not really sick yet can still be considered sick. Aiyah...i also don't know what i'm talking about. Just hope this sickness will be over soon. And i mean real soon.

Had a nice sharing during da zhu today. I mean it's really pretty rare to find someone who can talk to... i mean really talk to comfortably. =)

School Starts

First of all, i must say that the recent Taiwan earthquake that damaged a few underwater cables which caused internet connections in most of Asia to be stumped did affect the frequency of my blogging. At least we can see that a natural disaster (physical geography) can have such profound effect on the economies and social life of the world (human geography). A great example of how physical geog and human geog can link together.

School has started and i was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of familiar faces in my lectures of various modules. Had Khairul (my MOE Teaching Awardee friend) for my terrestrial and coastal environment module (GE2220). How could i forget that during the lecture on Monday, my flip flops broke lah. And i had to use blutack (courtesy of another MOE Teaching Awardee friend) to stick it back together. So paiseh!

Had a wacky lecturer for Arts of Southeast Asia (SE2214). Probably this will be the only module in which i have no one i know. Come to think of it, who in the right mind will take this module... hahaha. I took it without even looking through the description loh. =P But the module did promised to be fun-filled. We will be like learning Thai dance and also draw some stuff during tutorials. Cool!

Had Xuanfeng and Fatt Weng for Changing Landscapes in Singapore (SSA2202).

Bumped into Douglas and Li Xiang for Place, Environment and Society (GE1101). And the greatest surprise was my cousin was in the module too. Oh gosh... what a big familiar crowd.

And tmr i will be taking Leisure, Recreation and Tourism with sean.

Hmmm...seems like this sem won't seem to be as boring as last sem..... =)

**Sigh... think i'm really really going to miss you. Although it's only like for 5 mths, it is still a pretty long time. I do harbour lots of fears and worries at the thought that you will be away, but i believe all of this happen for a reason. Will continue to keep you in prayer. You do take care over there alright? Do help me get an autograph of John MacArthur or John Piper if you have the chance =P hahahaha.**

Sentosa CGL outing

Had a cgl outing at Sentosa today. Those who turned up include Yitsin, Jieying, Jieyi, Zhaojin, Hwachuan, Mingyuan, Yanching, Yibin and I. Spent the afternoon at Palawan beach singing praises and playing captain's ball when the sky began to darken and rain started to pour. So we took refuge outside the 7-11 and had some sharings there.

Alright... i'm seriously very very tired...thus this short post. However, i have to confess i ate really unhealthily today. Fried kway teow for lunch and mee goreng + laksa for dinner. gosh.. i better do some workout man.

2007

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
There ain't any fancy countdowns, nor any fanciful performance. What we had, were heartfelt prayers and genuine sharings within the fellowship to welcome the advent of 2007. Looking back, indeed i had fallen in so many ways but i am convinced that it is only through man's weaknesses can God's grace be exemplified. God has been very gracious to me, despite the fact that i had broken His heart so many times. No longer will i make any New Year Resolutions for i have a really bad memory to remember all of them (not that i can remember what i've made last year anyway) but just a verse for me to keep in mind to encourage and motivate me for the year.
Be dilligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.
2 Tim 2:15
to be dilligent in studying God's Word, to be driven by love in teaching God's Word and to be disciplined in living out God's Word.
