A few hours before flight

It's really fast. In a blink of an eye (or both), 2 weeks have passed. Right now i'm in the frantic state of last-minute packing. Well, come to think of it, it wouldn't be so long a wait this time. 3 months compared to 6 months... and furthermore, it would be a long lull period awaiting me... after my QMSA of cos.

For now, i would like to thank all my friends who have accompanied me during my short stay here, who have taken time out of their busy schedule to accomodate my 'dates'...a BIG BIG THANKEW and *HUGGiez*. And for those whom i could not make it to meet you, a thousand apologies but i promise i will get back to ya when i return in March...

Alright... i've gotta end here.
have to meet my brother for morning breakfast
Take Care.... :`)

Rules of the game:

1. Post 5 weird/random stuff about yourself.

2. At the end, list the names of 5 people whom you want next to do this, and leave a comment "YOU ARE TAGGED!" in their blog and tell them to read your blog for rules.Ok.. Here goes..

1) i am a snake catcher. So far i've caught 2 pythons in my medical centre

2) i really really adore the song by Wang Li Hong... Forever Love. Got this fantasy of singing it to my special one in the bar or some cool and romantic restaurant.

3) till now, i have 2 Gold, 4 Silver, 2 Bronze plus 3 Colours Award for Canoeing. (this is super buay hiao bai... sorry)

4) No. of Christian books i own: 60+

A Shopper's Woe

My friends in Taiwan were amused at how i shop in the supermarket. Ok... i do admit that i'm an impulsive buyer therefore i have to think of some ways to curb that bad habit... and gee do people think it's funny. argh...

I was at the local supermarket with my friend. After browsing through the items on the shelves, i picked up alot of groceries to pay at the cashier. However, before i do that, i made another round again, putting back the items which i deemed as a 'want' more than a 'necessity'. So it's like at first i have 10 items... but after the 'seriously-give-it-a-thought' round, i ended up having 1 item left. hee... that's a pretty good solution for an impulsive no-brainer shopper like me.

some ways and questions which would be great to curb impulsive buying
1)is it a want or necessity?
this qn is crucial especially if you're tight in budget. eg u only left $10 for the week, or u have owed ppl money etc. Seriously give it a thought.

2)to think of all the negative effects that item will do to u...
this is especially useful to foodstuff. Like that irresistable Char Kway Teow of Ghim Moh Mkt or that delicious-lookin chocolate in 7-11, just think of how much pounds you will put on... how much flabbiness will be shown on ur body. Ok... that's enuff to cut the thought of buying.

3)push off buying the item at a later date
this often works for me too. i will be thinking like "i'm sure i'll find a better deal somewhere" or "i'm sure i'll find a better design elsewhere". And trust me, as time goes by, if it's not something u need or want, u will forget about it. But if the thought still did glued to you for like weeks, forgeddit, just buy.

However, if u haf the cash n u haf the capacity to spend alot, eh... then juz go ahead. Just not to the extend of landing urself in debts or u haf to pay instalments for the item.

Good Service

Ever since i came back from Taiwan and Japan, i had not stop complaining of how poor the service in Singapore is. Sometimes when i compare Singapore and Japan, i really felt that we are a bunch of barbarians. I'll just mention some of my experiences.

Case 1:
i went to this LEVI's shop in SHIBUYA to buy a pair of jeans. Although there were some barriers in terms of language in which we had to use really simple English to put our meaning across, all the salesman in the shop were really sincere and patient to understand and find out what we really want. Take the case of me going to the Fitting Room to try on the jeans (we have to take off our shoes to use the fitting rm), when i opened the curtain to try a new pair, i was pleasantly surprised to see my shoes being lined up in an orderly fashion outside my cubicle. Not once, not twice but altogether 4 times... and this went the same for other customers. When it was time to pay at the cashier, the salesman was so polite and humourous at the same time... it just made my day... super satisfied... not bcos of my Levi's Black... but bcos of the genuine sincere superb service.

Case 2:
This was told to me by Adrian...
We were at the street of Asakusa shopping for souvenirs. Adrian went into one of the shops to buy a pair of Japanese slippers. He passed a big note to the shopkeeper (an auntie). Ok... this might sound a bit duh... but what i'm going to say next will show you how great their service is right down to the most intricate detail.
She opened her cash register to give back the change. When she took out the notes one by one, it just happened that one of the 1000 yen note was folded into half. She put that folded note aside, and replaced it with a new fresh one... before handing it over to Adrian.

Even in Taiwan, you wouldn't feel that you're MR/MS Invisible in the shop. And that's precisely how i felt during the first few days of shopping in S'pore.

Case 1:
I'm invisible... shopkeeper reading magazine or chatting on phone... totally oblivious to any beings around him/her.

Case 2:
i was given a pile of notes as change... all crumpled up... this was at Far East

Case 3:
Rude remarks given by cashier... can't they be demure for once? goodness...they are LADIES!!

BUT

While shopping in Holland Village today, i realised that the service here were pretty good. Holland V has never disappointed me in terms of good service. i began to wonder...why??... and i kind of figured it out.

Good service is not entirely on the part of the salesperson, the customers do have a part to play too. As you know there is a great influx of Caucasians in Holland area (in fact most in S'pore), i see more Ang Mo's than Malays and Indians combined everyday. I was observing how the Caucasians shop and i realised they were really polite and nice. So, if the customer is nice... how can the salesperson not be nice then?
I went to get my jeans altered at Holland moments ago, and the 2 aunties were really friendly and they actually gave me a lot of suggestions to how i can make my jeans look better and all. It might be really pleasant to work in Holland as a salesperson... not bcos u are forced to put on a smile... but u inevitably will... great customers...
