Taitung

Today has been a tiring day for me. It could have been one of the most treacherous condition i've ever drove in. I did not realise that there's a typhoon at the southern sea of Taiwan today causing strong winds and waves by the coastal route. The wind was howling like mad... and it was freezing cold too. I could really feel the whole car vibrate every time a strong gale attack. This was accompanied with the drizzle which made the visibility rather low and the road rather slippery. The hundred plus kilometres of winding mountain roads with some parts that had collapsed due to the last typhoon added on the the difficulty of steering the wheel as well as keeping myself awake for the whole journey. But my passengers and i did survived. hahaha. Pix will be up very soon.

and of cos... i got a summon... sigh...
but no points deducted...
can bargain somemore...
in actual fact... i
1)did not fasten seat belt
2)above speed limit
3)overtake at double yellow line
but the traffic police only fined me for the 3rd one
*phew*
but a great lesson learnt... should be more patient and no more Initial D fantasy
blame Jay Chou's music... sigh
seen that guy twice this month...
once in Taichung and the second time in Kaohsiung
why can't this jay leave me alone...

Missing Home

After looking through the photos taken by fellowshop, it dawned on me how much i miss my bros and sis back in Singapore. I couldn't help but imagine myself to be one of those peeps in the photos... but i'll be back in december anyway.

Oh... and i'm so excited over my coming trip to Tokyo. Had been saving up here for this trip and i think some of my friends here were already thinking i'm quite anti-social (for i've not gone Kaohsiung for ages)... sorry lah... saving up mah.
if ya guys got anything that you want me to get from Japan.. do drop me a mail hor!

double-mindedness

Suppose that there were two men: a double-minded man, who believes he has gained faith in a loving Providence, because he had himself experienced having been helped, even though he had hardheartedly sent away a sufferer whom he could have helped; and another man whose life, by devoted love, was an instrument in the hand of Providence, so that he helped many suffering ones, although the help he himself had wished continued to be denied him from year to year. Which of these two was in truth convinced that there is a loving Providence that cares for the suffering ones? Is it not a fair and a convincing conclusion: He that planted the ear, shall he not hear. But turn it around, and is the conclusion not equally fair and convincing: He whose life is sacrificing love shall he not trust that God is love?

- Purity of Heart is to Will One Thing , Soren Kierkegaard

This excerpt came as a reminder of what i've realised about myself during my fellowship last Thursday... lack of love. I've been to 'obsessed' with myself, my faith, my relationship with God that i've neglected my care and concern for other brothers and sisters. Pastor Liew's sharing gave me a big blow on the head, i've been so self-centred in my faith that i've forgotten He wants me to love others. Suddenly i felt i'm not a Christian... i'm so far away from the sky-high standard Jesus has mentioned in His Word. So many times i've asked myself this question, do I obey Christ out of love, or out of His blessings? Maybe it's time for us to pause for a moment and be still... think about our motive of having faith in Christ Jesus. For He is the God that looks into our hearts, not on our surface actions...
I pray that we will all strive to be the second example, an instrument of God helping the sufferers despite whatever hardship we will encounter (like Job)and yet praising and glorifying His Name.
May His Spirit help us...
